Douglas Freedman

Managing Director–Real Estate

Mr. Freedman is a Managing Director—Real Estate for The Endeavor Companies. Mr. Freedman is responsible for all real estate activity including sourcing new product, raising equity, underwriting deals, closing transactions, joint venture strategy and dispositions. Mr. Freedman has over 12 years of experience including a variety of real estate related disciplines including the development of residential and commercial land, mixed-use village centers, hotels, multi-family for sale and for rent projects and the creation of mixed-use traditional neighborhood design communities. His responsibilities have included the development and disposition of over 10,000 lots and 2.5 million square feet of commercial.

Mr. Freedman spent 8 years with Pritzker Realty Group “PRG”, the real estate arm of the Pritzker family office and Rock Companies (“Rock”), the real estate arm of Dan Gilbert’s family office (founder of Quicken Loans and Owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers). At PRG, Mr. Freedman served as the Director of Development for the Baldwin Park Development Company. Baldwin Park is a unique redevelopment of an 1,100-acre parcel that was formerly The Orlando Naval Training Center and is now a mixed-use community with neighborhoods, shops, offices and schools. Baldwin Park was awarded an Award of Excellence from the Urban Land Institute for the “Best master planned community of its kind in the country”. Mr. Freedman performed all land sale negotiations and joint venture analyses for Baldwin Park and completed over $100 million in transactions including single-family, multi-family for rent, condominiums, retail and office transactions. At Rock, Mr. Freedman was responsible for acquiring multi-family assets throughout the U.S. market with a concentration on the Florida, North Carolina, Arizona and Colorado markets.

Prior to working with the Pritzer and Gilbert family offices, Mr. Freedman spent 3 years with the Walt Disney Company where he served as the Manager of Commercial Development for the Celebration Company and was responsible for commercial and multi-family development for Disney’s Town of Celebration and Little Lake Bryan. In this capacity, Mr. Freedman negotiated and closed over $50 million in land sale transactions and participated in over $100 million of dispositions including an office park and the village center.

Mr. Freedman holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Denison University, and an MBA from the University of North Carolina. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute and Congress for New Urbanism.
